What is Operations Management?

This Operations Management Graduate Certificate program is designed to provide an interdisciplinary approach to operations management, ranging from manufacturing to health care. Participants will gain an understanding and appreciation of the functions an operations manager provides to their organization. They will acquire knowledge of the essentials of business operations, including project management and supply chain management. We recognize the differences in quality management between business and health care by providing students a choice of quality management courses. Credits earned through this certification program are fully transferable to the M.S. in Project Management degree program.

Why study Operations Management at UNH College of Professional Studies?

Operations management is critical in every industry. It helps organizations address gaps, problem solve, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve day-to-day workflow. Historically thought of as a discipline specific to manufacturing, today you’ll find that many organizations are investing more resources in operations management so they can increase quality, control costs, and enhance products, services, and delivery.

Whether you work in health care, manufacturing, e-commerce, military or another field, earning a graduate certificate in Operations Management is an effective strategy to help establish yourself as a credible professional in the industry. In our program, you’ll  acquire new skills in support of managing an organization’s operations functions—and more importantly, learn how to apply this knowledge on the job.
