The Cost of Attendance (COA) is an estimate of the total amount it will cost you to enroll at the UNH College of Professional Studies each year. Our basic COA reflects your tuition and fees, as well as all other expenses that you’ll have to budget as a student. These expenses are broken down into two main categories:
- Direct Educational Costs: Tuition charges and fees that appear on your student account.
- Indirect Educational Costs: Books, supplies, transportation, loan fees, living, and personal expenses.
Cost of Attendance is Based on Enrollment
The full academic year at UNH CPS is defined by enrollment in the Fall Semester, Spring Semester, and Summer Session. Your cost of attendance is adjusted based on your enrollment. For example, the cost of attendance for a student who attends only the Fall and Spring terms would equal two-thirds of the 36-week budget.
Independent Students are generally one of the following: at least 24 years old, married, a graduate or professional student, a veteran, a member of the armed forces, an orphan, a ward of the court, someone with legal dependents other than a spouse, an emancipated minor or someone who is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Dependent Students do not meet any of the above criteria.

**These are Indirect Educational Costs. Your student account will not be charged for these items. Additionally, please note that tuition costs listed are for full-time enrollment: 12 credits for undergraduate/PBTC students per term and 9 credits for graduate students per term. Additional COA Expenses
On a case-by-case basis, our Financial Aid team can reflect additional budget costs in your overall Cost of Attendance. The allowable costs include:
Dependent Care
The actual cost of child care for students during periods that include, but are not limited to, class time, study time, field work, internships, and commuting time for the student.
Computer Allowance
The actual documented cost for a computer may be added, but the purchase must have occurred no earlier than 90 days prior to the request.
Disability Allowance
These expenses include special services, personal assistance, transportation, equipment, and supplies that are reasonably incurred and not provided by other agencies.
Students are required to provide specific supporting documentation such as signed statements, receipts, copies of statements, third party documentation, etc. Additional documentation may be required upon review of an individual student’s request before any additional budget category is approved.

State and federal information is collected and reviewed annually to update the cost of attendance, if needed.
A student survey is conducted periodically to review and define student budgets to maintain the core principles of a comprehensive, reasonable, systematic, and documented approach in developing the cost of attendance for our students.
